Home » About Béa

I am Béa, a French expatriate living in Boston with my Irish-American husband; I am obsessed with cooking, eating, sampling new ingredients, styling and photographing food. I am lucky to have lived in a few countries including beautiful New Zealand, so I now continue to travel the world and document my discoveries with words and photos. I work as a food stylist/photographer/writer, and feel blessed to be able to combine my passion into my work.
My blog is a privileged place where I can share my food discoveries, stories, experiments, and where I can be as creative as I want and can.
Why “La Tartine Gourmande” as the name of my blog?
I just loved to combine these two French words into a name. La Tartine Gourmande is just what I like. I can explain. In French, une tartine means an open sandwich with a topping or spread on top. Gourmande is the French to describe anyone who cannot resist food. I think this is a good term to describe me too.
I am a regular contributor for the Boston Globe Food section — samples of my work can be seen here. I am available for freelance work as a food writer, food stylist and photographer, and recipe developer. Contact me for further information.
I also have a portfolio, so you can check it out at beatricepeltre.com.
All material is copyrighted La Tartine Gourmande (http://www.latartinegourmande.com/), Béatrice Peltre. If you are interested in licensing one of my photographs for commercial purposes (I have high resolution versions of most of the pictures published on this blog), please contact me.
Anything else?
I will think about other things to say, I am sure. In the meantime, welcome and I hope you enjoy the ride.
