La Tartine Gourmande: Recipes for an Inspired Life

I have been waiting for this moment for quite a while, and today is a big day for me. I am now holding a cookbook in my hands. My own cookbook. In fact, right now, I have boxes filled with it, ready to be shared.

And do you know what?

It feels overwhelming good.

It’s moving for me to think about the many hours I spent cooking, styling and photographing dishes, from breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts, that we ate at home. Many times! Then writing stories that go along with the recipes, bringing wonderful memories for each one of them.

So what’s happening now?

You can decide.

The official release date of my cookbook is February 2012. But if you are keen to buy and receive it now, I am having an exclusive presale on a dedicated site to the cookbook.

To buy it now, you can click here.

I would like to thank you all for your support, all along. And also thank David from Davidlebovitz, Clotilde from ChocolateandZucchini, Shauna de Glutenfreegirl, Heidi from 101cookbooks and Dorie from DorieGreenspan for writing such encouraging and nice blurbs for the book. It means a lot.

I am really thrilled with the book. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did when I was writing it.

Happy Cooking! I cannot wait to hear what you think!

Note: The measurements inside the book are both given in cups/ounces as well as grams/liters.
Also, if you buy the book through here, the good news is that you will definitely receive it now, and not in February.

  28. I really waited your book! I can’t wait until February, so I just ordered it now! I’m looking forward to get it!

  30. Congratulations! Your words and photographs have been an inspiration to me and I can’t wait to fall in love with your cookbook!

  31. Oh my… I have waited for this moment for so long! The most wanted cookbook right now. Have to check if they ship to Europe as well… Excited! The sneak peek is so promising. And honestly: I’m expecting nothing less than perfect inspiration from you. And no pressure here: you have never disapointed me.

  33. I just placed my order and can’t wait to get cooking. You must be so proud. Enjoy this moment!

  34. congrats Bea! I just ordered my copy…I’ve checked your site daily for over a year now, your pictures, stories and recipes always bring a smile- can’t wait to have a slice of sunshine on my kitchen counter! best of luck to you!

  35. Congrats! Your book seems really wonderful!
I wanted to ask you just two things:
    1) if I buy it now on the internet, will I have it in my hands in February anyway?
    2) is it in grams, ° Celsius and so on? Because I hate cups and tablespoons (I’m Italian and I’m just accustumed to grams, sorry!)

Thanks and best whishes with your book sales 🙂

    Teresa

  36. I looks absolutely gorgeous!! I cannot wait to get my hands on it! What a wonderful moment for you…enjoy it because you deserve every bit 🙂

  38. Congratulations, the samples look very crisp fresh and appetizing. Well, it’s definitely going to be hard for me to wait for next February for your book. As I’m living in Switzerland the shipping costs are just a bit too high …
I love your blog, but to have your cooking style printed on actual paper will make a big difference and certainly make me appreciate your inspiration even more.
    Cheers, Verena

  43. Congratulations Bea! I have been following your beautiful blog for years, and I can’t wait to own your new book! Your work is such an inspiration and always energizes me if I am feeling a little low on passion and creativity. 🙂

  45. Thank you so much everyone for your kind words, and encouraging notes. I hope you enjoy cooking from it as much as I do! I am sorry about the high shipping cost for the book delivery outside the US. February is around the corner then, eh? For me, it just flies by.

  51. Bea, congratulations! What a great accomplishment, I can only imagine what it feels like to hold the book in your hands! Thank you for this opportunity to purchase the book earlier than the release, can’t wait to receive it!

  52. Bravo Bea, we’re all so proud of you! This a great story for Aotearoa NZ! How about a down-under edition?

  53. Congratulations, it looks awesome…
Looking forward to hold the book in my hand…and try out the recipes of course… so far everything that I cooked following this blog has turned out simply delicious!

Congrats ! I just can’t wait now !!!! It’s gonna be the perfect Xmas present for everyone!

  55. Félicitations! I’m not surprised at how beautiful your book is. I’ll be ordering a copy today, can’t wait to see it all first hand.

  56. Over a few years ago and I fell for the way you’ve presented everything from this site and the old. Can’t wait to get a copy of your book! Felicitation!

  57. Félicitations, Bea!! I just ordered it and hope it will be here before I move to France next week. It is a perfect gift for my new husband!

Also, we went to Turks and Caicos for our honeymoon and stayed on Long Bay Beach! It was just as you described and we’ll remember it forever! All the best to you!!

  60. Congrats Bea!! It’s so colorful and seams just like you!! I wonder if I can buy it on internet ‘couse they do’t sell them in Croatia 🙂

  61. Finally just ordered mine! Can’t wait to have it in my kitchen and be inspired. 🙂

  62. My wife and I have been avid local readers for just a short while now, but we have learned so much. The book arrived at our home today and it is a work of art. From the words to the pictures, it screams you, and we can’t wait to cook our first thing from it. The hardest part is deciding which one! Congrats, and for all of you that have ordered one, you will not be disappointed.

  63. Congratulations Bea. It looks wonderful. Have ordered my copy and should be here after the weekend. Can’t wait. xx

  64. When I clicked over here from Google Reader and saw the first photo in this post, it gave me a chill! That’s how beautiful it is. I can’t wait to get a copy 🙂 Congrats to you!!

  65. Thank you everyone. For those of who who have already received the book, Stephen amongst them, I am *so* delighted and touched by your feedback. I hope you will enjoy cooking from the book a lot.

And now, for my readers outside the US, I obviously apologize for the high shopping costs. With my agent, we are currently working at drawing attention to the book from publishers inside major countries like France, UK, Australia, in the hope they will want to publish the book in their own country. In case of which, the shipping will be really affordable!

  66. I received my copy of your new book yesterday. It is so beautiful!! I tucked myself into bed early and read through much of it. I enjoyed hearing your stories and can’t wait to start cooking.

  68. Julia, I am so happy to hear! Looking forward to your feedback!

Karen, so pleased to hear. Make bouillabaisse or bake muffins 😉

Salutations, Caroline

I want to run around to all my favourite places and ask them to stock it for you. I am simply delighted and can’t wait to cook something very soon.

  85. On the dedicated site for the book there is a typo in the second paragraph:

“Though her style is largely inspired by her native France, you’ll find array of influences …” Should be “an array of influences”

    FYI

  86. Congratulations!!! It is also a present for all of us, who visit your blog and have shared your life and your passion for cooking and food-styling and nice stories of inspired-daily-life! I will put in my list for next time I visit the US. Felicitaciones desde Buenos Aires,

  87. Congratulations! I can’t wait to own this book. Your blog has been really inspiring. Keep that fire burning!

  88. What a wonderful cookbook Béa!
I was thrilled to finally receive it, and I can’t wait to try your recipes! By now I have only managed to take a quick look, but I have already made the buttermilk, lemon and poppy seed pancakes, so delicious! They were my priority, since you prepared them for breakfast when you were on vacation here in Chania, where I live with my husband and my six-months old little daughter!…
By the way, Lulu is sooo beautiful!
I will be making lemon and honey flavored chicken, and banana, chocolate and hazelnut muffins in the next few days.
Thank you very much for publishing this precious cookbook, please continue sharing experiences, photos and amazing recipes!…
    Kisses from Creta Island.

PS. What are these madeleines on page 216?!…

  89. Dimitra, many thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the pancakes. Made them this weekend, once again, too! I love that you made them because you live in Chania. Bring such great memories of us having breakfast in garden, overlooking ocean. Page 216, these are hazelnut madeleines 😉

  90. Bonsoir,

Merci.

  95. Hi Bea,
I saw that you commented that the photo on page 216 was of hazelnut madeleines. But there is no recipe for them in the book. Was this a typo or omission of sorts? Do you have the recipe for them for those of us with the book that want to make these yummy looking sweets?

    Thanks!
