Bea, this recipe has become one of my favourite Sunday baking sessions. I adapted it back into classic marbré, with dark chocolate in the center and vanilla base for the rest. And I bake with glutenfree flours, but for some reason with your proportions (I guess the butter helps!) the cake is always so mellow and spongy. We love it!

[...] So moving on to matcha cakes- of which I’m generally in awe of as yours truly does not like to bake. Well to be honest I’m not crazy about cooking either, but I can make a really good cup of tea and I will spend hours in the kitchen working with chocolate. I thought by now I would have at least tried making a marbled matcha cake, as they seem to be the most popular as far as matcha cakes go. But I must say that it is not the case as of yet- so I will have to report back when and if I have a go. In the meantime please take a look at La Tartine Gourmandes’ perfect example of a White Chocolate and Matcha Tea Marbled Cake. [...]

[...] The problem with this cake, as can be seen here is overbaking. Therefore it has dried up a bit when out of the oven. It was not my fault, actually. I followed the recipe very strictly. And it was also not the fault of the recipe, either, as she is an awesome, world-famous baker, whose blog and recipe you can find here: http://www.latartinegourmande.com/2007/01/18/white-chocolate-and-matcha-tea-marbled-cake-marbre-au-c...
