The Promised Chocolate for Easter — Le chocolat promis de Pâques

Everything could look like we belong to two different worlds yet. We are 2 women, French, bloggers, greedy for food, in our 30s, we both love to cook, to travel, we love photography and to share a little of our cooking.

Mais il faut aussi retenir …  ParisBoston ; Anglais -Français ; mariée – célibataire ; Tartine gourmande et Station gourmande

So in the end, we are not that far apart. Or we could be if we look at these : Paris – Boston ; English – French, married – single ; Tartine gourmande Station gourmande.

We wanted to unite our efforts during Easter time to celebrate and talk about chocolate. Hence for a moment, Béatrice is managing my Station, and I am managing her Tartine, and we are hoping to provide a fun appetizing Blog Crossing ride!

So here I am with my little Frenchie accent (with Bea around to come and help if need be!)

I would like to share 2 recipes, different and rich, yet very simple, which I hope you will try very soon.

Recette 1/Recipe #1

1 oeuf
50 g de chocolat blanc
20 g d’huile d’olive
1 pincée de piment d’Espelette
4 fleurs comestibles

Pour la couverture
30 g de crème liquide
30 g de chocolat blanc
1 pincée de piment d’Espelette

White Chocolate Small Cake with Espelette Pepper
(for 4 small cake, I use silicone bakeware)

50 g sugar
50 g flour
1 egg
50 g white chocolate
20 g olive oil
1 dash of Espelette pepper or chili powder
4 edible flowers

Glazing
30 g heavy cream
30 g white chocolate
1 dash of Espelette pepper or chili powder

Preheat your oven at 400 f. Melt your chocolate using the bain-marie technique. Mix the sugar with the egg until white. Add the flour. Add the melted chocolate, the olive oil. Mix and sprinkle with Espelette pepper AOC.

An appellation d’Origine includes the name of a country, a region or an area serving to designate a product from that region and with qualities and characters that exist due to the geographical environment, comprised of natural factors and human factors.

Flavour fruity and grilled (roasted)

Pour in moulds and cook for 10 to 12 mns. Check if it is cooked by using a sharp blade and insert it in the cake. Let cool down. Prepare your glazing (use bain-marie technique to melt white chocolate with cream and use a spatula). Pour over and let cool down. Prepare your plate with a cake each, and decorate with an edible flower.

Recette 2/Recipe #2

Mousse au chocolat au lait

40 g de chocolat au lait
20 g de praliné
100 ml de crème liquide
Pralin

Milk Chocolate Mousse

40 g milk chocolate
20 g praliné for pastry (Valrhona -Cadbury)
100 ml heavy cream
Pralin

Melt the chocolate and praliné using the bain-marie technique. Whip your cream firm (place the bowl in the fridge so that it is cold).

Add one spoonful of cream in the chocolate, mix and then add the rest. Mixing carefully so that you keep the lightness of the mousse.

Place in small glasses and sprinkle with pralin.

A bientôt!

Tomorrow, we respectively get back to our own blog. We hope you enjoyed this nice moment with us. Before Easter, on Station gourmande, I will present another chocolate recipe, come and stop by!

  1. I love this Blog Crossing idea! Brilliant! I love the small cake as I like anything small but not being a white chocolate fan, I would make it a bittersweet version! So cute though!

    I NEED choccie now!

  2. The blog crossing was fun, but perhaps a little confusing. I wasn’t always sure who was writing what where, but it allowed me to discover the “Station Gourmande” blog, which is maybe the main idea. Great photos of the desserts. Enjoy your association!

  3. Bonne Pacques, Béa! And watch out for mice…I hear they like chocolate cake…(although perhaps the piment de Espelette will keep ’em away)
